Whistley Waters offers Rose and Apple Tree Lodge. Both lodges are set within 15 acres including its own ancient woodland, Whistley Coppice, which is a particular feature in spring, covered in a carpet of wild garlic and bluebells. With its own woodland walk leading to miles of public footpaths through farmland and country lanes and a nature treasure hunt, Whistley Coppice is a wonderful experience for all guests. There is a 3 hole pitch and putt golf course, exclusive use of any of the 4 fishing lakes offering either fishing, boating, a try at wild swimming or simply as part of the unspoilt views of the surrounding countryside. You can even go and collect your fresh eggs in the morning from the chicken coup. With easy access to numerous local attractions, the North Dorset cycleway, traditional country pubs within walking distance and the town with local ammeites only 2 miles away, Whistley Waters offers an idyllic, rural  setting with the feeling of seclusion without being remote.

Nature lovers will delight in the rich and diverse wildlife that can be seen at Whistley Waters, including its own badger set and resident King Fisher living amongst the many feathery and furry creatures that visit throughout the year.  Bird and nature books are available in both lodges along with binoculars and with pond dipping jars dotted around different parts of the stream and lakes and seasonal foraging opportunities, with wild garlic, apple trees, blackberries and the community vegetable allotment all guests get to immerse themselves completely in the natural beauty of Whistley Waters. All set on a backdrop of a gently meandering steam with its own waterfall, which elevates the already flourishing sounds of nature, Whistley Waters feels truly enchanting, a real hidden gem.

AVAILABILITY AND BOOKING

1. Swan

Swan Lakes is the largest lake, at about 3 acres. It was stocked with fish when we bought Whistley Waters in 2010 and was left unfished for 3 years. The fish have been fed and left to grow unpressured and only a few family and friends have had the privallige to fish it. Now, from summer 2017, we are inviting guests to come and fish it. It has specimen carp that love the bollies and pellet approach or a floating bait off the surface. For big bags of Tench and Bream, Crucians and still water Barble, Rudd and Perch ground bait and corn work really well, with open water, lillie pads, 2 islands with Weeping Willows and shallow bays to explore. Bags of 100lb+ of Bream and Tench have been caught in early spring and mixed bags of Crucians, Barbel and Rudd plus specimen Carp all in amazing condition.

2.Mallard Lake

Mallard Lake is the lake the lodges look over and is the closet of all 4 lakes to the lodges. It is around 1/2 and acre and boasts a great stock of fish that will keep you busy all day long. It fishes well all year round with the summer months seeing surface fishing with a dog biscuit or a crust of bread working really well. It even fishes well in the depth of winter.

Scale down to the float rod and you will have a chance for bream, Tench, Rudd, Crucians and Perch.

3.Coots Lake

Coots Lake is around 1/3 acre and is mainly full with carp to double figures and with 100lb bags easily achievable.

4.Kingfisher Lake

Kingfisher lake is tucked away in the corner , amongst the trees, on the edge of our woods. It is currently 4 small ponds joined by channels. A future project is to develop it into a snake style match lake. Stocked with lots of Rudd, Perch and Bream it is an ideal float lake to learn your trade and get plenty of bites.
